Senior workers of the Nigeria Postal Service have picketed the office of Minister of Finance over plot to cede the collection of stamp duty to the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
The aggrieved workers insist NIPOST is statutorily mandated to collect stamp and any attempt to stop the Service from doing do so will render it incapacitated.
The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, spoke to the workers, insisting the decision to review the nation’s tax system was not her personal decision but that of a National Committee on Tax Review.
She says the recommendations of the Committee are now being implemented.

Mrs. Ahmed has now asked the workers to present a position paper to be tabled before the committee for a likely review.
