House Intelligence Committee voted along party lines Tuesday night to approve a report that found evidence of President Donald Trump’s misconduct and obstruction of Congress as “overwhelming.”
The report, released earlier Tuesday, will form the backbone of the impeachment proceedings against the President and charges that Trump’s conduct toward Ukraine compromised national security.
The vote will send the report to the House Judiciary Committee as that panel considers moving forward on articles of impeachment.
The 300-page report from the House Intelligence Committee sets the stage for the impeachment of a US president for the third time in history.
