The annual gani fawehinmi lecture is underway here in Lagos to celebrate the rich legacy of the highly respected social critic and human rights defender.
The event now in it’s 16th year is organised by the ikeja branch of the Nigerian bar association. Chairman of the program, a Justice of the court of appeal, ugochukwu ogakwu said the challenges with the judiciary were surmountable, even though he noted that the current federal system was skewed. Another judge, Justice adedayo oyebanji says the judiciary shouldn’t be an appendage of the executive. Speakers will be addressing the topic of the program, federalism and the judiciary in Nigeria
