The 4.6 billion naira laundering trial of former Minister of aviation, Femi Fani Kayode at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi Lagos could not proceed today as planned.
Mr Fani Kayode, who headed the reelection campaign bid of former president, Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 was in court, as against his absence on Tuesday at his other corruption trial in Abuja.
Also charged in the case are, former Minister of state for finance, Nenadi Usman, former chairman of the association of local governments of Nigeria, Yusuf Danjuma, and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Ltd.
The EFCC was to continue leading witnesses today. But the absence of counsel to the third and fourth defendants, Clement Onwuenwuenor, stalled proceedings, as he had matters at the Court of appeal.
The judge, Ridwan Aikawa has now adjourned the case to February 24 and 25.
