The governorship candidate of the Action Alliance in 2019, Uche Nwosu, has withdrawn the appeal challenging the victory of Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo state.
The Apex court earlier moved judgment on the appeal against the Governor of Kano State till the 20th of January.
The date will end the 60 days provided by the electoral act for the appeal to be heard and determined.
The supreme court is also expected to hear petition appeals from five other states today. The hearing of this last stage of the appeals is coming eight months after they assumed office in May last year .
They were brought by various aggrieved candidates in the polls in the affected states.
The governors declared elected by the independent National Electoral Commission in the states are Emeka Ihedioha of Imo state, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state, Simon Lalong of Plateau state, and Samuel Ortom of Benue state.
