The Nigerian Airforce said it is ready to use the Bayelsa International Passenger and Cargo Airport pending the issuance of the civil aviation licence for the commencement of operations.
Air Vice Marshall, Ibukun Ojeyemi expressed optimism of a smooth take off when he met with Governor Seriake Dickson in Government House, Yenagoa.
It would be recalled that the first planes landed at the Bayelsa International Passenger And Cargo Airport on14th of February 2019 and quickly dissolved every doubt of an existing aviation facility in the state.
Periodic inspection by aviation authorities revealed that the airport is ready for commercial flights and this dominated the discussion when Governor Seriake Dickson welcomed the new Air Officer Commanding Mobility Command.
The speedy inauguration of the project will save people of Bayelsa much expenses often incurred travelling to Port Harcourt and Owerri to book
flights to Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country.
