Owners and operators of filling stations, liquefied gas plants and other players in the downstream sector, have been trained on strict adherence to safety protocols, fire fighting, automation and certification.
This was organised by the Department of Petroleum Resources, in Gombe State to ensure that accidents are avoided due to the volatility of their products.

In 2019, Akko a local government area in Gombe State alone witnessed three major fire incidents involving petroleum tankers.
Nigeria has 27,430 licensed filling stations just as the domestic use of cooking gas is on the rise. The end goal is for consumers to remain safe and itch-free operations in the downstream sector.
