The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Clerk of the Benue State House of Assembly, Torese Agena for alleged
misappropriation of funds.
Mr Agena is investigated for alleged fraud, stealing and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of over N220 million.
EFCC also explained that the suspect is currently in detention on a valid remand warrant obtained from the Federal High Court, Makurdi.
The anti-graft body said family members of the suspect who wanted their family head released came to the EFCC zonal office and attacked its officials.
The EFCC, also alleged that the Clerk’s wife and two of his daughters carried out the attack on some policemen attached to the office.
