The 2019 senatorial candidate of the Action Alliance in the Imo North Senatorial District election, Ndubuisi Emenike, was accidentally shot dead by an operative of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on Sunday January 26th.
The incident took place during a victory party for the APC candidate Miriam Onuoha, who was announced winner of the rerun election in Okigwe North Federal Constituency.
The NSCDC officer was attached to the AA senatorial candidate escorted Ndubuisi Emenike to the victory party and was shooting consistently into the air when he mistakenly shot his boss.

The victim fell unconsciousness and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
