Iran is facing a second day of protests after the country’s admission that its military ‘unintentionally’ shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane that killed all 176 people on board.
Despite a large deployment of security forces, demonstrators gathered at universities in Tehran and at sites in other cities, calling for senior officials to go.
Protesters were also at the British embassy, demanding it be closed, chanting slogans and waving signs critical of the ambassador to Iran.
Britain says the envoy was briefly detained on Saturday, which Iran says was because he was inciting protests, after attending a vigil for victims of that incident.
