Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has begged the United Kingdom to extradite a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to Nigeria to account for an allegedly missing $2.5bn.
Magu, who addressed journalists preparatory to the passing out parade of the EFCC trainees at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, alleged that the former minister stole Nigeria’s money.
Magu also said corruption was surmountable, noting that in 2019, a total of 1,218 convictions were secured by the EFCC.
Magu also said 28 convictions were effected in January 2020.
