The Nigerian Airforce is pleased with the Bayelsa State Government offer that it will now use the state-owned International Airport for its flight operations.
Air Vice Marshal Ibukun Ojeyemi showed his excitement after an Airforce plane made its maiden flight to the Bayelsa International Airport.
Ovieteme George reports that an offer from Governor Seriake Dickson was grabbed by Air Vice Marshal Ibukun Ojeyemi at a meeting in Government House, Yenagoa on the 21st of January this year.
The Air Officer Commanding Mobility Command was onboard a Nigerian Airforce plane NAF 204 which landed on the Bayelsa International Passenger and Cargo Airport on Sunday the 2nd of February.
He recalls what Governor Seriake Dickson told him earlier in the year.
The Airport is ready for operations, and if inaugurated soon, will save many the difficulties associated with travelling by road to Port Harcourt,
Owerri and neighbouring cities before travelling to other states.
