The National chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, has faulted the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for declaring PDP’s Douye Diri as winner of Baye;lsa governorship election.
Addressing a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, Oshiomhole said the electoral umpire assumed the power of a court by interpreting the law.
Oshiomhole added that INEC wrongly interpreted the supreme court judgment, thereby creating illegality in the electoral process.
“INEC has assumed the position of the court by interpreting the judgment the way it has done, which it has no power to do so.
“PDP did not win the Bayelsa election nor did it record the geographical spread.
The former Edo state governor added that the party, after consultation, the party rejected the decision of the electoral umpire and will seek legal redress.
Oshiomhole called on the people of Bayelsa state to maintain peace and order.
