President Muhammadu Buhari has set up a committee to study and address the expanded United States Visa ban list on which Nigeria and five other countries were added on Friday.
The committee will be chaired by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
On Friday, the US announced temporary travel restrictions on six countries, including Nigeria.
The suspension does not apply to other US visas such as those for official, business, tourism and student travel. It will take effect from February 21st, 2020.
The US said it imposed the restriction as a result of Nigeria’s failure to comply with its established identity-management and information-sharing criteria.
