More than 50 foreign elite athletes who will be competing in the 5th Lagos City Marathon have arrived the country ahead of the race scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Organisers of the race would unveil the athletes at a media Conference on Friday.
Leading the foreign legion of runners are men’s defending champion, Sinta-yehu Legese of Ethiopia and 2017 women’s race winner, Rodah Tanui of Kenya.
After failing to finish in the medal zone last year, Rodah returned in a quest to become the first woman to win a second title in Lagos
More than 50,000 runners are expected to take part in the silver label race which is Africa’s biggest long distance event
The Lagos Marathon have also instituted an awards in honour of the late former Chairman of the Lagos State sports Commission, Deji Tinubu, to herald the race.
