President Muhammadu Buhari, has ordered the suspension of the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Mr Modibbo Kawu.
Months back, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, arraigned Mr Modibbo Kawu on corruption charges.
The ICPC had arraigned Mr Kawu in May 2019 over his alleged complicity in the misapplication of the N2.5 billion seed grant for Digital Switch-Over programme of the Federal Government.
Mr Kawu, a journalist with decades of experience was appointed by the president Buhari, as the Director General of National Broadcasting Commission on May 25, 2016.
A senior director in the commission has been directed to take over from the suspended DG.
