The House of representatives has launched a status enquiry into the operations of the Nigeria Communications Satellite, NigComSat.
A seven-man committee is to investigate the agency’s financial activities between the years 2012 to 2019.
National Assembly Correspondent, Joke Adisa, reports that explanations by the NigComSat team led by its Managing Director, Abimbola Alale, did not go down well with the lawmakers.
The chairman said the committee was embarrassed by the agency’s presentation
After a cursory look into the reports submitted by the agency, the Committer said it was widening its scope to further understand its operations
At its next appearance, NigComSat is to furnish the sub Committee, consisting of five lawmakers and two representatives from the office of the Accountant General of the federation, with all bank statements, Value Added Tax, Withholding Taxes and all remittances from 2012.
