The Ijaw Youth Council in Bayelsa central Senatorial district are hve called on political leaders in the state to support youth development and promote peace across the region.
On a courtesy visit to the former governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, the group recognised the achievements and value of Mr Dickson’s eight-year administration.
Governor Seriake Dickson welcomed the Ijaw youth council of the Bayelsa central senatorial district to his Abuja residence.
The former Governor of Bayelsa state is still getting accolades even out of office.
The group is appreciative of the critical role the former governor played in bringing stability to the restive creeks of the oil producing state.
The former Governor also called for greater support for his successor who he believes has capacity to make the state even better.
The Ijaw youth council wants Seriake Dickson to continue his support for young people and always advocate for peaceful coexistence in the Ijaw Nation, Bayelsa State and the NigerDelta Region.
The lauded the success of the former governor in providing enhanced access to quality education in the state, building lasting infrastructure and human capital development.
The group has assured that the incumbent governor of the oil rich state will also enjoy the support of Ijaw youths as they contribute their quota towards the growth and development of the state.
