The Imo state government says preliminary investigation to ascertain the cause of Thursday’s building collapse in Owerri will commence immediately.
The government said anyone found guilty of structural defect will be punished.
Efforts are being made to rescue those that may still be under the rubble.
The Imo state government is talking tough. It says it is determined to deal with anyone no matter how highly placed responsible for or have contributed to the unfortunate incident.

Different professional bodies are not left out in applying extant laws against those who may have compromised their responsibilities leading to the collapse.
