NBA has announced new leadership to steer its national affairs for the next 2 years. Olumide Akpata has been declared the winner of the Nigeria bar association’s general election for the office of president. The electoral committee of the Nigerian Bar Association announced all the results early Friday morning, shortly after electronic voting ended.
Mr. Akpata polled a total of 9,891 votes (54.3%) defeating Julius Oladele Adeshina, SAN, and Dr. Babatunde Ajibade, SAN, who polled 3,982 and 4,328 votes respectively.
The chairman of the ECNBA, Tawa E. Tawa also announced nine other winners for its other national offices.
18,256 ballots were submitted of 29,636 eligible voters (with 205 opened)
In their reaction, Mr. Akpata expresses his appreciation for being voted in and assured that by the grace of God, transformational leadership would be witnessed in his administration.
But ThankGod Enahoro speaking for Dr Ajibade said he would communicate to his principal on way forward and appropriate scrutiny.
