Traditional rulers in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State have called for immediate removal of the Local Government Transition Chairman of the Council, Femi Onanuga, for allegedly disrespecting the traditional institution.
They claimed that he lacks qualities to lead the local government and urged the Governor, Dapo Abiodun and Ogun State House of Assembly not to approve, renew or extend his tenure in office.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Ojotumoro of Abigi, Oba Olusegun Ogunye, called for an outright removal of the Transition Chairman of Ogun Waterside Local Government, noting that he has refused to learn from his mistakes.
The state House of Assembly earlier this week confirmed the extension of 18 Local Government Transition Chairmen, effective from 19th July, 2020, while the confirmation of the Chairmen of Remo North, Biodun Somoye and Ogun Waterside, Femi Onanuga were stepped down.
While reacting to his rejection by the monarchs, Femi Onanuga who spoke on phone noted that he had issues with two of the monarchs while carrying out his constitutional duty as the council chairman but the matter had been resolved by the political leaders in the state.
He added that had equally tendered an apology to them as his fathers and custodian of culture and tradition.
