An Islamic advocacy group in Ogun State has asked Governor Abiodun to ignore the antics of the MURIC propagandist whose divisive antics is well known to Nigerians.”
According to the Group , the Community of Muslim Professionals warned the Director of Muslim Rights Concern, Professor Ishaq Akintola, to stop sowing the seeds of religious friction in State in the bid to promote what they call ‘his own brand of irredentism’
In a statement issued by its Secretary, Alhaji Saliu Adewusi in Abeokuta described muric’s comments about the Governors bias for appointing only Christians in the State as a libelous allegation
That statement had accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of selling Ogun State to Christians.
CMC said it had the appointments made by the Governor into the State’s commissions and boards last month and they reflected religious balance, merit and professional competence.
Key officials serving with Governor Dapo Abiodun today who are Muslims include the States’ Deputy Governor, Chief of Staff, Chief Economic Adviser and Commissioner of Finance and the Head of Service are devout Muslims just as both Muslims and Christians gave Prince Dapo Abiodun a mandate to pilot the affairs of Ogun State, and they are solidly behind him.
