The Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the federal government was responsive to the demands of the ENDSARS protesters.
The minister disclosed this on Thursday while briefing the media on the events leading to the #EndSARS protests across the country.
Mr Mohammed said misinformation and fake news played huge roles in the violence that played out in the protest.
He added that the federal government has no plans to shut down the social media, rather plans are underway to regulate the social media.
The Minister urged ENDSARS protesters to approach the Judicial panel of inquiry with their evidence of deaths at Lekki toll gate. Hew however insisted that Army did not shoot at the protesters, but shot blank bullets in the air.
He called for sanctioning of CNN over reinforcing the spread of fake news through their recent investigative report.
Mr Lai Mohammed said the Central Bank of Nigeria froze bank accounts of some EndSARS protesters in line with a court order.
He said only a competent court can pronounce judicial panels of inquiry illegal.
