Minority Leader of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Bashir Mohammed (APC – Nguroje) has been kidnapped from his residence in Jalingo.
Police spokesman, David Misal said Bashir from was abducted up after sporadic gun shots were heard around his house located next to the Comprehensive Secondary School in Jalingo.
Misal said the police and sister security agencies were working to rescue the victim.
According to him, the abductors were yet to contact the family.
Bashir is the second lawmaker to be kidnapped. Hosea Ibi, who represented Takum I, was kidnapped and killed in December 2017.
Bashir hails from Sardauna Local Government Area.
