The Lagos State Government has warmed against treatment of malaria while having symptoms of COVID-19.
Speaking at a press briefing, the commissioner for health, Professor Akin Abayomi, explained that this became important as there has been a general notion that the coronavirus doesn’t exist in Nigeria hence the lackadaisical attitude experienced.
He noted that 13 out of 100 people tested have covid-19, alluding to the aggressive transmission of the virus due to non observance of the protocols.
Over 29 thousand has been diagnosed but the ministry said a lot of people have opted to treat themselves from home.
According to the Commissioner, as at 26th December, community recoveries from Coronavirus stands at 21,921, while 2,836 has been discharged from isolation centres in the state.
Professor Abayomi said active Cases under Home based care now stands at 3,716 while those currently under isolation are 75.
Regrettably, 236 people have died of the disease in the state.
