The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the killing of APC Chairman in Nasarawa state, Philip Shekwo, as a callous, wicked and dastardly act.
The former Lagos State governor made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
Asiwaju Tinubu said Mr Shekwo did not deserve to die the way he did, nothing that no one deserves to be so killed in such a gruesome manner.
“My hearts also go out to the family of the deceased, the immediate-past governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, and the teeming APC members in the state.
“I pray that Almighty Allah comfort them all. In particular, I pray that Allah stand by the wife and children, and indeed by all those left behind by the deceased. May the soul of Mr. Shekwo rest in the bosom of the Lord.”
Mr Shekwo was kidnapped on Saturday night by some unidentified gunmen in his residence in Lafia, the state capital on Saturday.
Mr Bola Longe, Commissioner of Police in the state, confirmed the death of the APC chieftain to reporters on Sunday in Lafia.
According to him, the body of Shekwo was found in an area near his house in Lafia on Sunday.
