Three persons have been killed, houses and farm produce razed by gunmen in Magarya village of Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State.
The gunmen who stormed the village Tuesday night spent several hours attacking locals and destroying properties.
Magarya is the home town of the speaker, Zamfara state House of Assembly Nasiru Mua’zu Magarya.
He has led other members of the House to the affected community to sympathise with families and victims of the attack.
He describes the incident as evil and an attempt to disrupt Governor Bello Matawalle’s government in its effort to tackle Banditry and kidnapping in the state.
The Zamfara Assembly speaker assures the government’s commitment through security agencies to arrest and bring perpetrators of the unholy act to book.
He also promises deployment of more troops to beef -up security in trouble areas across the state.
Zurmi local government is about ninety two kilometers from Gusau, the Zamfara state Capital.
Efforts to hear from the police in the state have not yielded results.
