Police in Zamfara have arrested a gunrunner, drugs supplier to Bandits and six other suspected criminals involved in various criminal offences.
The police also recovered one AK-47 rifle, live ammunitions, cutlasses, Indian hemp suspected to be cannabis sativa, cash amounting to one million and seventy thousand naira and other assorted pharmaceutical drugs including injections meant for delivery to bandits.
Parading the suspects in Gusau, the state Capital, the commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro said the police operatives acted on credible intelligence which led to the successes recorded.
The police said the gunrunner was arrested with one million and seventy thousand naira cash meant for the purchase of AK 47 rifles from a notorious bandits named Dogo Alo residing in Zurmi Local government area of the State.
The CP Abutu noted that another suspected notorious bandits, Ibrahim Lawal was arrested in Biyabiki village an outskirts of Tsafe local government area with AK 47 rifle, magazine with rounds of live ammunition.
Police Authorities in Zamfara appeal to residents of the State to continue to support the security agencies with credible intelligence to enable them rid the State of criminal elements.
