The Muslim Student Society of Nigeria MSSN has commended the efforts of the Zamfara state government in curbing security challenges bedevilling the state
The group said the efforts put in place by the state Governor Bello Matawalle to restore the lost glory of peace and tranquility in the state is yielding results
In a communiqué issued at the end of a two day retreat for the 10th area Unit Executive Officers of the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria MSSN held in Gusau, the Zamfara state Capital, the society appeal to school authorities in their locality to liase with traditional, religious and community leaders to develop unique security strategies in schools within their domain that will ensure the full return of academic activities in all schools especially those in border communities
The Amir Zamfara Area Unit of the society Ahmad Ahmad Enagi said the students religious society is happy with the way and manner the Zamfara state government handles the dreaded Coronavirus which granded which has granded economy and social activities across the globe
According to him, the efforts put in place by Governor Bello Matawalle’s administration to curtail the widespread of the virus is highly commendable
They call on the state government to give same attention to others sectors such as Health, Education among others.
The society also appreciate government’s effort in settling inherited debts owed to various institutions especially Alhikma University Ilorin and Crescent University Abeokuta which led to the withholding of final certificates for over 40 students and the commencement of verification of local students for possible payment of local bursaries which has been suspended for years now by releasing over 380Million Naira to restore the program
In a similar vein, it recognizes the efforts of state governments in offsetting debts owed NECO and WAEC but urges the state government through the ministry of education to review and renew its repayment plans with the two bodies to ensure hitchfree registrations and conduct of the examinations and prevent students from being stranded after each examination.
Ahmad Enagi further appeal to authorities concern to checkmate activities of female genital mutilation, illiteracy, child destitution and several other ills bedeviling the society.
The MSSN at the end of the retreat considers the importance of Information and Communication Technology ICT Particularly Social Media Handles and conventional media (Radio & Television) as effective tools for the propagation of its projects and programs, while calling on other branch of the society to use same platform to reach out to the world.
