Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed has denied claims by the Nigerian Army of having a backlog of Federal allocation amounting to 50billion Naira.
The Minister made the disclosure when she appear before the Senate’s committee on the Army following the backlash she received from the Chairman of the committee for her absence from the previous meeting .
She said the Nigerian Army is not being owed a dime as all its allocations have been fully paid.
The Minister also apologized for her absence from the previous meeting explaining that she was involved in some National Issues that required her urgent attention.
The Committee is currently in a closed door session with the Minister and other relevant stakeholders to discuss funding for the military.
