A Federal High Court in Abuja has awarded a cumulative sum of N81.9 billion against oil, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited and its Joint venture partner.

The amount is to be paid to the oil communities in Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State for economic losses suffered from oil spillages caused by the companies during exploration.
