President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali has expressed optimism about the country’s medal hopes in the Wrestling event of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The former Olympic medalist disclosed this at a send forth ceremony for the five wrestlers and two coaches, who will be representing the country at the games.
While appreciating the support from the Federal ministry of sports and the Bayelsa state government, Igali stated that the athletes are ready to boost Team Nigeria’s chances of winning medals at the Olympics.
Meanwhile, Team Lagos have emerged winners of the 2021 Arm Wrestling Open Championship held at the Molade Okoya Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Team Lagos won the tournament with seven gold medals, 12 silver and four bronze with
Imo State coming second with seven gold, one silver and one bronze medal. Team Kogi came third with one silver and one bronze medal.
