The Al-Makura Support Organisation (ASO) has described as untrue, the media reports that the former governor of Nasarawa state, Umar Tanko Al-Makura has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity, Al-Makura Support Organisation (ASO), the group said while it is true that the EFCC invited the Senator to answer some questions bordering on some allegations to which he responded appropriately and effectively debunked, he was at no time detained and has since returned to his residence, to a dinner with political associates.
The group however warned those it described as mischief makers to desist from campaign of calumny against the respected Senator who has served Nasarawa State meritoriously for 10 years, first as a two-term Governor, and currently as a Distinguished Senator, with unblemished records.
“Senator Al-Makura won’t be distracted by the antics of detractors as he remains committed to working assiduously to continue exemplary representation of his people at the National Assembly. He remains focused on the vision of galvanising a repositioned and reformed APC.<” the group stated.
