As part of efforts to fight the rising insecurity in the North West region, the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG in charge of Zone 10 has just arrived Sokoto state Police Command Headquarters to meet with officers and men of the command.
The meeting which is aim at gathering information to help the police in the zone to re-strategize and confront Banditry and other criminal activities within the area of responsibility of the zone in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara is attended by all the four area commanders.
In his address Sokoto state Police commissioner, Kamaldeen Okunlola says despite the challenges face by the command, a number of successes have been recorded so far.
He listed the successes to include arrest of bandits and recovery of dangerous weapons and smashing criminal gang of kidnappers as well as rescuing victims of kidnapping.
Mr. Okunlola says the successes were made possible through effective collaboration with other security agencies as well as members of the vigilante groups in the state.
