The Joint Action Committee of Subventing Institutions in Ekiti State which includes all Universities, Teaching Hospital, and College of Heath Sciences owned by the Ekiti State Government have demanded that the 5 Months Subvention arrears due to them to the tune of 3,172,500,000 (Three Billion, One hundred and Seventy two Million Five Hundred thousand)Naira be released within the next 24 Hours
Union Leaders from State owned institutions Addressed the Press at the Popular Fajuyi Ground, directly opposite the State Civic Center to drive home their agitations.
They Complained that despite the huge bailout received by the state government, the Governor has refused to change his mind on Subventing Institutions in the State and the refusal to defray the 5 Months outstanding subventions has been described as unjust.
