Troops of Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have killed five Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province in an ambush staged at one of the terrorists’ crossing points along Dunga in Gubio local government of Borno State.The troops, who were on a long range fighting patrol in the general area got signals of the crossing of the terrorists.
The military engaged the terrorists In a battle that ensued for about one hour, resulting to the deaths of five terrorists, while several others escaped with bullets wounds.
An Intelligence Officer, disclosed that one soldier was killed after he was hit by a bullet while five Civilian Joint Task Force Members and hunters fighting along with the troops were injured.
After the long battle, the troops recovered five AK-47, 2 motorcycles, 10 Magazines and money.
Gubio is about 95.8 kilometers away from maiduguri the Borno state capital.
