Some youths in Edo state this morning embarked on a peaceful protest blocking the NDDC office in Benin over the non- inauguration of the screened and confirmed board by the Nigerian senate on the 5th of November,2019.
The protesters who also accused the minister of Niger Delta affairs, Godwill Akpabio of hijacking all the benefits accrued to the region to Akwa Ibom state want the NDDC to be removed from the ministry of Niger Delta affairs and return to the presidency.
The groups also want the interim management committee taminated immediately and the substantive board inaugurated.
They say absence of substantive board has affected development in the region.
