Representatives of twenty five groups in Sokoto state have presented the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship nomination form to Sagir Bafarawa, calling on him to contest for the 2023 Governorship election in the state.
Mr. Bafarawa is a serving Sokoto state Commissioner for Environment, and has earlier declared his intention to join governorship race in the state on the platform of the PDP.
Leader of groups, Malam Almustapha Sarkin-Baki, says they considered the achievements of Bafarawa in his capacity as Commissioner along with political movements being youths ambassador.
He says based on his past and present records, Bafarawa deserved collective support to continue with good leadership started by Gov Aminu Tambuwal in the state.
‘Responding, Bafarawa commended the groups efforts and expressed his acceptance to his supporters and says he would reach out to elders as well as other stakeholders as part of continued consultations.
