The Chief of Army Staff, LT. General Faruk Yahaya is in Sokoto for the ground breaking ceremony of the Nigeria Army Forward Based Operation.
The base is to be cited at Gatawa, a town in between Sabon Birni and Isa Local government areas.
Hpwever, shortly before the event, the COAS paid a courtesy call on the state governor, Aminu Tambuwal before heading to the troubled eastern Senatorial district of Sokoto for the ground breaking ceremony.
