The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN Oyo State chapter has tasked the newly appointed Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Tajudeen Ariwoola on quick dispensation of justice.
This is just as the Muslim Media group in a statement in Ibadan congratulated the Iseyin born Jurist on his elevation, describing it as well merited.
The statement issued by the Chairman of MMPN, Oyo State Chapter, Alh Adebayo Abdur-Rofih described delay in the administration of justice as the major bane of the judiciary in Nigeria which in many occasions have led to justice denied and perversion of justice.
The Association urged the new CJN to make speedy dispensation of justice one of his cardinal programs as he assumes the new position.
” The MMPN, Oyo State is using this medium to felicitate with Justce Olukayode Tajudeen Ariwoola on his appointment as the new CJN. This is a well deserved elevation and one which has brought further honor to the pacesetter State. Though the assignment is no doubt challenging, we are however convinced that with dedication, commitment, hardwork and trust in Allah, our Lordship will bring about the much desired turnaround and positive change in the Nigeria judicial system. We equally appeal that Justice Ariwoola make equity, fairness, promotion of human rights and corrupt free judiciary his agenda for the nation’s judicial system” The Statement said.
Oyo MMPN further used the medium to appeal to eminent jurists in Nigeria to work with the new Chief Justice of Nigeria for outstanding success and efficient service delivery.
Olukayode Tajudeen Ariwoola was sworn in as Acting Chief Justice of Ngeria following the resignation of the former occupant of the Office, Tanko Mhammed, allegedly over ill health though controversies remain over a petition written by all Justices of the Court over his alleged ill administration.
He has since been confered with the title Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger GCON normally reserved for occupants of the position upon the completion of their term of office.
