President Muhammadu Buhari has sworn in Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Justice Ariwoola is replacing Justice Tanko Muhammad who resigned Monday morning on health ground.
The new acting Chief Justice is the next most senior Justice of the Supreme Court after Justice Tanko Muhammad who resigned on Monday.

The former CJN was said to have resigned on health grounds, but there has been pressure on the Chief Justice recently to step aside and allow for a probe of allegations against him by 14 justices of the Supreme Court.
The justices claimed their welfare has been neglected by Justice Tanko and they also alleged that funds allocated to the judiciary were been mismanaged.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has honoured the former CJN Tanko Muhammad with the award of Grand Commander of the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON
