Enugu state police Commissioner, Abubakar Lawal has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct discreet investigation to establish the cause of the fire outbreak at Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area’s INEC Office.This was contained in a statement signed by the state police spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, as updates to the early morning fire incident at INEC office, situated at Ogrute in Enugu-Ezike community of the LGA.
The command observed the fire started from the back of the building, but was put out by the rapid response of Police Operatives and members of the Nsukka fire service.
CP Lawal consequently assured the public to unravel the cause of the incident and take necessary action, while appealing to the residents to support the command with credible information to be able to bring the perpetrators to.justice.
The police state further that the affected area has been cordoned-off for preservation and further investigative actions.
