The Nigerian Army is set to rebuild a bridge in Gulani local government area of Yobe after heavy flooding destroyed it and cut off residents of Dutchi and Busari.
The reconstruction of the bridge is as a result of the appeal made by Governor Mai Mala Buni to the federal Government and other agencies for immediate response and interventions.

Large communities in Gulani Local Government have been cut off as a result of last Saturday’s flooding.
This has forced locals to seek alternate routes, navigating their way through the bushes to reach other villages.
Concerned about the devastation, the Yobe state government requested assistance from the federal government and other agencies in rebuilding the destroyed bridge.
The Nigerian Army Engineering Corps Commanding Officer 23 in Jos has been ordered by the Chief of Army Staff to visit the affected communities to assess the need for potential reconstruction.
The commissioner for transport and energy Abdullahi Kukuwa who comes from the affected local government wants more assistance to ease the lives of residents of the communities.
The Nigerian Army’s engineering corps have visited the communities to determine the type and size of the bridge they would built. While an amphibia bridge, a temporary bridge that would give locals access to other villages, is being built, measurements have been taken.
