Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Sokoto state have been admonished to maintain integrity and good conduct to ensure a free, fair and credible election as the nation approached the 2023 general election.
The call was made by the outgoing Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in Sokoto, Abubakar Sadiq at a gathering in Sokoto.
He said the introduction of technology like the card readers and BIVAS have greatly improve the credibility of rhe conduct of elections in Nigeria.
Mr. Sadiq said for these successes recorded through the application of technologies in the conduct of the nation’s election to be sustained, the personnel working with these technologies must maintain a high sense of discipline, determination, integrity and uprightness.
The outgoing REC have served two term as resident electoral commissioner and will be bowing out of INEC before the conduct of the 2023 general election.
