No fewer than fifteen Persons were said to have been killed by suspected bandits who invaded a mosque in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara state
The Worshippers were said to have been killed by heavily armed men while observing Jumm’at prayer in a Mosque in Ruwan Jema Community
The Gunmen stormed the area on motorcycles with sophisticated weapons and started shooting sporadically
This was disclosed to TVC News by an indigene of the area who pleaded anonymity.
“The terrorists, who rode on motorcycles invaded the mosque and opened fire on worshippers, leading to the death of 15 persons on the spot, while many other victims sustained various degrees of injuries,” the source said
This is coming as the Nigerian military launches massive bombardment of identified hideouts of the terrorists in different parts of Zamfara State
It is part of the federal government strides to rid all Communities of Banditry, Kidnapping and other crimes
This is the second time in one month that bandits are attacking Jumm’at Mosque in Bukkuyum Local Government Council
The last was the abduction of over forty Worshippers while observing Jumm’at prayer in Zugu village in same Bukkuyum Local Government area of Zamfara State
Efforts to speak to Zamfara police authorities proves abortive as the Command spokesperson Superintendent Mohammed Shehu is not responding to phone calls put across.
