Victims Support Fund (VSF) have distributed food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Okpute Community in Oju local government, Benue State.
This is part of the state government’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Benue.
A tricycle, ambulance, and medical supplies were also donated to a Primary Health Care Centre in Okpute.

Benue State hosts almost 2 million displaced persons in 27 IDP camps.
Persons displaced either by conflict or flood.
With little help from the federal government, the overburdened state government is left to provide shelter and food for these displaced people.
More lives among the displaced have been saved thanks to assistance from humanitarian organisations, especially in the area of healthcare.
One of the organisations, the victims support fund, has distributed food items to 1,000 households displaced by the communal crisis in Bonta Community in Konshisha Local Government Area, which forced people to flee to Okpute.
Bags of rice, maize, millet, soya beans, one litre each of palm oil, vegetable oil, salt, sugar, maggi cubes, and seasoning cubes are among the items distributed to Okpute IDPs.
