The Arraignment of speaker of the Ogun state house of assembly is underway, Olakunle oluomo; clerk of the house, taiwo Adeyemo and oladayo Samuel now underway.
The three accused men are separately represented by Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), Akinyemi Aremu and Oluwole aladedoye.
The economic and financial crimes commission prosecuting the case is represented by Rotimi Oyedepo.
They are accused of allegedly laundering ogun state funds totaling more than 2.465 billion naira.
A fourth defendant, Adeyanju Nimota Amoke is said to be at large.
They were all said to have sometimes in 2019 in the ogun state capital, Abeokuta conspired amongst themselves to launder more than Two Billion, Four Hundred and Seventy Five Million Naira from the treasury of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
The alleged offence is said to be contrary to sections 18 (a), 15 (2) (d) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 as amended and punishable under section 15 (3)of the same Act.
The Speaker of the Ogun state speaker of the house of assembly, OlaKunle oluomo, and his two co-accused have pleaded not guilty to the 11-count charge preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The accused arrived the Court premises in a Toyota Hummer Bus owned by the EFCC at about 9:30am.
The 11 Count Charge against them bordered on stealing and forgery related.
The Court is presided over by Justice Daniel Osiagor.
