The traditional ruler of Pinau village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Dadda’u Ahmad, who was kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday with his driver has been rescued by soldiers attached to Operation Safe Haven in the village.
The spokesperson of Operation Safe Haven, a security task force saddled with maintaining peace in Plateau, Bauchi and parts of Katsina, Major Ishaku Takwa, confirmed the incident.
Hassan Pinau, a resident of the village said, the rescued traditional ruler and his driver were abducted on their way to Wase by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
He explained that soon after the news of the incident was reported to soldiers in the village, they swung into action and trailed the kidnappers where they rescued the victims and recovered two guns, and three motorcycles.
Musa Hassan, a member of the neighborhood watch in the area duisclsoed that “I was with the soldiers during the rescue operation.

“Everyone is happy in the village now. There was an exchange of fires between the soldiers and the culprits before the victims were rescued.
