Ogun House of Assembly has suspended a former Deputy Speaker, Dare Kadiri, representing Ijebu North II and Solomon Osho from Remo North constituency over what it called breach of the Assembly rights and privileges.
The Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo announced the suspension of the lawmakers during plenary in Abeokuta .
He explained that the lawmakers breached the provision of the legislative house power and privileges, noting that they were found to have severally breached the privileges.
The speaker added that they violated section 17 of house power and privileges, quoting Order 6, rule 19:2 which says that where a matter of privilege arises, it shall be taken into consideration immediately.
The Speaker maintains that their suspension came through Resolution 1310, 2022, suspension of some honourable members for breach of the provision of the legislative house power and privileges having found to have severally breached the rights and privileges of the assembly and its leadership.
