One person has been killed in what seems to be a renewed clash in the crisis over the land dispute between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities in the Udu and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta state
Although the state police command is yet to confirm the incident, but sources say there was a gun battle early Friday morning between warring communities at the disputed boundary area with security operatives trying to restore peace and calm.
The Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh land tussle had been on for some years now claiming lives and property from the neighbours Urhobos in Aladja community and Ijaws in Ogbe-Ijoh community.
The Delta state government’s had come up with an initiative to demarcate boundaries between communities with the hope that it may put an end to the lingering crisis.
